Home Made Laundry Soap

Home Made Liquid Soap (Cost $2.00/5 Gallons)
4 Cups Hot Tap Water (almost boiling)
1 Bar Fels Naptha
1 Cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda
1/2 Cup Mule Team Borax
5 Gallon Bucket with Lid

All items can be found at Macey's in the laundry soap isle.

Grate the bar of soap (with cheese grater) and add to the hot water, mix until the soap is softened and then add to a blender and blend on low to mix well.

Fill a five gallon bucket half full of very hot water, add the melted soap, the washing soda and the borax. Stir well to dissolve the powder. Fill the bucket to the top with more hot water. Mix well. Cover and let it sit overnight to thicken to a gel.

Fill a jug with half soap and half water, shake before each use. For a top loading machine use 1/2 Cup per load. You must still use a pre-spotter. This soap works well for high efficiency machines because it is low sudsing.

Fabric Softener-
Use 1 Cup white vinegar to rinse water

Take any liquid fabric softener and dilute it twice with water. Put two sponges in the solution. When needed just remove 1 sponge, squeeze it out and add to the clothes in the dryer just like you would a dryer sheet.

That is what they gave me...Wendy said her's didn't gel, but I don't remember what Sabrina said to do...it will still work, but its either stronger or weaker, I don't remember. You will have to call Wendy on that one. But they did say their clothes were whiter, and softer then ever before. Good Luck :)

Hello again Margret!

So nothing new here to report, just thought I would post because I haven't done that in awhile. Whats going on this week? Well, Rob is talking to a dealership about trading the car in for an older Suburban. He is upset because we don't have anything to take us up the mountain. Which mountain? Well any of them really. :) Mostly up to Broadhead though. It seems that the manufacturers thought it would be a good idea to put the oil pan right up front on minivans. I will never know why. I do have to say I'm kinda proud of him though, I'm not to sure about trading it in, but he is talking to the dealership, and not just going out there and doing it. He has researched the truck, and knows what it is worth, and is ready to say no thanks. This is a huge step. :) What else...Oh, Talon gets his stitches out on Friday, right before his soccer practice. And I think we are going to try and go visit Ant (Talon and Canyon just can't accept that her name does NOT have a "T" on the end lol ) today. Hugs to all!!!

Oh yea, the pic! Grandpa is giving Bronco Pepsi, Bronco would cry every time Grandpa put the cup down. :) (Grandpa claims he thought it was rootbeer, but he took it out of my cup...LOL)

New place (thanks for letting us use the truck Victor!)

Just a cool pic of River playing Baseball.

Got his first tooth on Fathers Day!!! We Love You Daddy!

Private Notice

Hello all just to let you know we are going private. Thanks to all the wonderful perverted perverts out there who were checking out my most adorable nieces. So next Monday we will be private forever! Send me your e-mail, call or leave a comment and I will send you an invitation when I go private. Post it here and I will check a few times a day and delete.

Just kidding, I took the private off :)
WaaaHooo! We are at the new house and I think that we have more living space here! Even though its a duplex instead of a house. I will add pics later.

Sigh, this week is almost over, WaHooo! What a crazy week it has been. The new landlord, a very nice man, is on his way so we can sign the lease. Tomorrow we shall be done! But I will not have phone or internet (or TV for that matter) for about a week, so if you want me you will have to stop by. Hugs to all.

Stinking Tal-Tal! He nearly made it to the ER yet again...but I called the hospital and they found an instant care that our insurance will accept. Here's the lowdown, I woke up late for church this morning, kids are covered in dirt from playing at Grandma Larsen's house with cousin Josh, (who by the way is looking great and looks truly happy! Keep up the hard work bud!) So I'm throwing them in and out of the shower as fast as I can with out messing up my hair and make-up...lol make-up hehe...anyhow, I get to Talon's left foot and he goes crazy screaming at me. After I get soaked rinsing the soap off, I see a HUGE blister. It goes between his big toe and what ever the one next to it is called from the top, through the toes, and down to the bottom of the pad under his big toe. We show daddy, but it looks like he will survive so off to church we go. He limped all the way to church, but since I pointed it out, he may be faking. Until he is still limping on the way back home. So we take another look at home, its yellow ewww. While trying to just give it a little poke to clean, we notice all sorts of icky ickyness I don't think I need to describe inside it. Ugh, so of to instant care we go! (Thank Heaven for Instant Care, it better be cheaper then the er!) It took forever, but when we finally got in, the nurse took one little glance at it and sent us straight into the "Suture Room." Yea, thats comforting. So another forever later, the PA comes in, he dosen't look too comfy cleaning it out either. Yea, but he gets it done and strongly suggests we go see a podiatrist. Well, I will pick up the anti-biotic tomorrow, after Lori picks her kids up. hehe And they say Sunday's are for rest. hehe I don't think "they" ever had kids! :) Well, Thats All For Now Folks!

Moving

Wahoo! We know where we are going! How exciting is that? Moving just is just plain horrible, but then, to HAVE to move, on short notice, with too many unknowns is bound to land any mommy in a straight jacket! LOL Alas, now we know where we are bound, and mommy can start the "easy" part, packing. "Just throw it in a box mommy, whats the big deal?" hehe Whats that you say? Ohhhh, you want to know where hehe, its a duplex by the high school, with a very awesome Grandpa type landlord, who lowered all the rents in all the buildings he owns, because he knows how the economy has hit 'his' families that live there. So come one, come all, we are moving next weekend! The coolest part about all of these, it won't mess up baseball, T-Ball, Reading time at the library, Canyon's speech therapy, and I think I can keep them in the same school. oh oh oh, it has a fenced backyard, with a huge climbing tree! Hugs to all, off to make dinner, so if you want to know more you will just have to call, hehe we even get to keep our phone number. :)

Lets try this...

Fishing

First I need to thank all the men and women in the Armed Forces for fighting so hard for our freedom, THANK YOU!!!! We took all the boys fishing yesterday, Talon and Canyons first time fishing...well, I will let the pics tell the story.

Sunday, May 24, 2009

So here's the deal...The owners of our house have been hit hard by the poor economy, and have decided that they have to sell our house, and possibly their own house as well. So after only 5 months in the perfect neighborhood, we have to move. Again. yea

Mr. Canyon. What to say about him? lol Cute, cute, cute, and stubborn as a mule! lol Gotta love him! He qualified for speech therapy with the school district and they consider that a disability....which means now he will get to go to Head Start! I am so excited! My first kid to get preschool! Plus if I'm lucky...it will help with his potty training too! HOORAY! Now, he isn't officially accepted yet, I need to go to Provo and fill out the papers, but the lady on the phone said not to leave until I speak to her because she is head of the disabled division, disabled four year olds get the first spots. :)

Politics

I think I'm going to be ill. I don't consider myself a political person, by I cannot sit here and listen to our President without being ill. Seriously folks, I have never heard a President of the United States of America stand up, and turn into a child! This whole speech this morning says, I didn't to do, he did, love me please? ugh Then he complains that the Bush Administration made all of these decisions based on fear, what do you think your doing??? You cannot yell at someone for doing the EXACT same thing you are doing! How do you think you got all of the "Bail Out" crap passed? FEAR duh. Then he goes on to say how the "last" administration could only get a few terrorist convicted...duh, you wouldn't let them! Everything they tried, the democrats cried foul and wouldn't let them, just as now, everything the democrats do, the Republicans cry foul, and try to stop everything you are doing. I can't stand this, 'he said she said bull' GROW UP! I can't believe you people are leading our nation, and yes, this does include both parties. Do you not realise that every one can see through all the lies? We aren't stupid! Some of us may be blind, for now, but Americans do not live their whole lives blind. Eventually we will all open our eyes. And now he stands up there and says he will tell us only what he wants us to know. You dork, you can put all the pretty words in there you want, but that is what you are saying. You cannot now say that releasing photos will endanger our troops, when a few years ago it was OK. "I ran for president promising transparency", but I can't now, sorry. And now they are applauding him. Really? I understand you cannot tell us everything, we all understand that, how dumb do you think we are...oh wait, somehow you did get elected, so apparently we are pretty lame. He will insist on over site? By who? Nancy Pelosi? Yea, that's over site, no really, I believe you she will stop you if you do wrong. Except for the part where she said she would do anything and everything you ask. Here he stands, still blaming Bush for not doing what he should of, but democrats wouldn't let him get it done! now he says stop pointing fingers...um, shouldn't you stop talking then? Its like watching a train wreck. You want to look away, the sight is too horrible, but you just cannot blink, all you can do is silently pray, "Please make it stop!" So he says that Bush should have stopped the terrorists, but now he says they cannot be stopped 5-10 years at least. ugh Bush said it would be a long war. hello! Then he will bring those prisoners here, to America. Thanks buddy, if I wanted to be bitten I would jump into the bear cage at the Zoo. I know this skips around a lot, sorry, just typing in my thoughts as Obama speaks. I do not consider myself political, I am just a conservative wife and mom. This isn't a political blog...well :) this one is, but this blog was made for my family. Ok, enough politics for me today...I need to find something for my headache now.

River playing for the Braves! We gave flag football a shot last year, that didn't go over very well, little legue seems more River. We had a rough start as none of us expected to have baseball 3-4 days a week, but we quickly settled into a good pattern and all has gone well! Thurs at 8:00 in at the wooden park is his last game, he thinks he wants to give it another go next year! GO BRAVES!

Bean Museum

Today we went to BYU's Bean Museum, and then on tho the Paleontology Museum. What a great day! We went with Megan, and between the 2 of us we had 4 babies, 7 kids! CRAZY FUN! I highly recomend tne Bean Museum, it is nothing like what I remember! the Paleontology Museum was small, but really neat, with big windows to watch the Paleontologists work. Then on to Pioneer Park, (I think thats what it was called, on Center in Provo) where we had lunch and the kids were able to get thier built up wiggles out. What fun! Can't wait to find another place to go next week, any suggestions? It has to be free though. lol

I'm almost beginning to dare hope that summer has actually arrived! Its been awesome weather this week! Bronco new favorite treat has become grass! Yup, I think Canyon taught him. Stinking boys! They really do eat the grass, Canyon tries to deny it, but I know, Mothers know everything!! (Especially when you have to clean bums!) EWWW did I say that out loud!? Oops hehe Sorry Can, but its true, if you would use the toilet, then Mommy wouldn't know everything, just almost everything! Another sign of summer would be the longer days. I am seriously considering re-instating nap time. The kids barely make it to lunch time with out having a screaming match with the neighbor kids. Ugh, and would you believe that we don't leave them alone, there is nearly always a parent outside. So I think from now through the summer I am going to close all the curtains after lunch and have "movie" time. This way the kids won't realise they are being forced to settle down. Well, hopefully they won't realise, they are far smarter then I give them credit for, and usually these type of plans don't work, but they are usually worth a try. LOL Stop laughing at me do you have any better ideas?

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

We had a great time at the Zoo (yup, again) with Megan yesterday! That was a great idea THANKS!! Poor Talon was all over the place, so excited to be back so soon! But he just couldn't manage to stay with us, so we had to leave early. The poor kid screamed at me all the way to I-15! Which is an incredibly looong way when your 5 year old is screaming at you. But the good news is that I bet he will stay close to me at the Zoo from now on! He just couldn't believe that I left early! hehe

Monday, May 11, 2009

I hope all of you had a mothers day as great as mine! After church we headed up to the Zoo had a great time watching the bears! (Pics will eventually show up here) The elephants (my favorite) were just about to get fed, so one was banging the door with his trunk, it was incredable loud! Then off to the play ground where the kids ran and ran! I can't wait to go back for my birthday, inside the butterfly place will be a Madagascar exibit! (It said it was opening in May, but apparently not yet!) From the Zoo we headed up Immagration Canyon, through Heber, (gritting our teeth we resisted the urge for milk shakes, but I have a feeling we will be back up there soon) and on home. Luckily for us the kids slept on the way to the Zoo, and amazingly stayed awake all the way home, making bed time a cinch! What a great day, and thanks again Babe for the great pic of the kids!

Congrats Victor

Congrats Victor!! We had a great BBQ celebrating Victors Birthday, and Graduation! (oh yea, and Mothers Day too) I totaly forgot to take pictures too, I even went to walmart, made CDs from my full memory cards so I could take pics. Sorry Victor. Anywho a great day was had by all, I was able to get Rob to watch the older boys while Lori, Mom, Abby, Bronco, and I were able to go to Holy Cow Boutique at the old rec center. It was really neat, I have a couple craft projects I would like to do now. :) Marci should call and help me! Then off to get stuff for the BBQ then home to cook! (All except Lori and Mom who went clothes shopping.) Rob made great shish-ka-bobs kids loved their hotdogs! We can't forget Becky's amazing fruit salad! I believe the neighbor girls fell in love with Aaron, while Victor watched on the sidelines laughing at him. By the way Aaron, whats with the beard? It makes me think of pirates. hehe Well, I'm off to read bedtime stories to two very awake little boys. Wish me luck lol

DMV = Hall of Dread, Pit of Despair, Outer Darkness
Ugh yesterday was a day I tell ya! We left the house just before 10 with loads of screaming and crying because they didn't get their chocolate milk. (We are trying a new experiment at our house...the boys, Talon and Canyon, have begun having issues with staying in bed again. So we made them a deal, if they can go to bed like 'big boys' stay in bed and go to sleep, in the morning they get chocolate milk with breakfast...yea so far, no chocolate milk, mornings suck.) Anywho, we took the car to get insurance on it, and safety done. (registering at Mom and Dads house, we move too much) Neither of those places are necessarily child friendly. grrr So we wait for ever at the garage, and they do the IM too, but it passed so Ok, I guess it wouldn't hurt to register here. But it didn't pass safety, it needed new wiper blades, and fluid. REALLY!?! Dorks, they had wipers there, but didn't offer to put some on, or fill the fluid. (Actually they said that the passenger side the fluid wouldn't come out, yea, it was empty, DEE DEE DEE.) I really hate it when I could fix the car better then the garage, I mean really! I don't know much, and would rather wait for Rob to do it, but if I take it to a garage, pay them money, they better serve me! Isn't that what the point of owning a garage is? Hello??? Ok, done ranting about that.
So we get home, I lay Bronco down for a nap, and realise we have to leave in 1/2 hour for an appointment with Canyons speech therapist. No sitter for the other two. So her computer crashes, and Talon and Canyon are running around the front of the main office yelling. Why to they make school halls echoy? Thats just begging for trouble right there! so half hour after our appointment, her computer is fixed, and about ten minutes later we are done and out of there. But now River is home, we are late for his hair appointment, (thank to Linda for understanding!) Being late for that means we are late for baseball practice. Grrr
We finally get home hooray!!! But the day wore the boys out as much as it did me, and Talon and Canyon proceeded to throw tantrums for the rest of the night until both were simply sent to be early. (Like that ever works, no chocolate milk this morning either ugh)

Lets hope today is better as we return to dumb garage, and off to DMV.

Baseball

River had his pre-season, and first season games this week. They lost the pre-season game, but seemed to learn from their mistakes as the did a great job on their first game of the year! GO BRAVES!!!

Saturday, April 25, 2009

So River already doesn't like baseball, but I'm not sure if its the actual baseball, or the allergies part. His coach is really good, and makes the kids pay attention, work hard, and really try, so there is that too.

I was able to make it to the doc yesterday for my allergies, unfortunately the insurance doesn't believe I really need the meds, so the doc has to call them and fight for me. That's not going to happen until Monday, at least. UGH More sleepless nights for me. Ah well, its character building right?

Attack of the killer allergies...

Those of you who know me will remember I spent all of spring, and most of the summer sniffling and sneezing with horrible allergies. Now my poor unfortunate son, River, as got them too. (You gotta love the great genes!) The only comfort I have been able to give him, besides the dumb pills, is to show him that I was able to 'grow out of it'. In fact the only time I have had allergies in my 'adult' time, is when I was pregnant. (no, I'm not, promise) Yea, then I came home. I think I'm allergic to good 'ol PG. Ugh, I have been up since 4ish. Anyone know a good local doc? AAHHHH

Peer Presure

Here I am, caving into peer presure yet again. Someday I will be able to tell dear old sis no. lol Now we just need to get Mom to join the circus. I will post pics as soon as I get my camera back from Lori.

So who are we? We are the Larsen's! We have 4 monsters, River, Talon, Canyon, and Bronco. No pretty princess's for us, we leave them to Lori! All boys, all in baseball/T-Ball, except the babe. We shall see how the T-Ball experiment goes. LOL Have fun, take a look around!
